Effect Of Goko Cleanser On Liver Function Parameters In Wistar Albino Rats:- Dos Queen A

ABSTRACT This study investigated the effect of Goko cleanser on liver function parameters in wistar albino rats. Twenty (20) wistar albino rats were distributed into four (4) groups. Group 1 (normal control) was not subjected to Goko cleanser but only received normal feed and water ad libitum. Group 2 received 400mg/kg body weight of Goko cleanser. Group 3 received 800mg/kg body weight. Group 4 received 1200 mg/kg body weight of Goko cleanser. The results showed that the 800mg of Goko cleanser caused elevation in aspartate transaminase significantly (P<0.05) when compared with normal control. Also the 1200mg/kg of Goko cleanser decreased in total bilirubin significantly (p<0.05) in comparison with the 400mg/kg (0.29±0.51) but they have a non significant (p>0.05) decrease when compared with the normal control (0.42±0.28). No significance difference was observed in the other parameters in comparison with the normal control. Therefore, goko cleanser did not induce hepatotoxicity in the animals.
