Development Of An Expert System For Igbo Language Translation:- Nwanne, Emmanuel U

ABSTRACT

 Igbo is a major Nigerian language spoken by over 20 million people both within and outside Nigeria. There is a need for linguistic feature that justifies an expert system is Igbo's morphological richness. Expert system will function as a translation tool that converts text between lgbo and English with greater sensitivity to the linguistic and cultural peculiarities of the Igbo language. The problem statement of this research focus on the data breach and unauthorized access, data privacy, integration with existing system, lack of privacy and security, the ethical implications of data use, lack of user comfort and safety issues. The project aim focuses on the development of an expert system for Igbo language translation that would be able to translate Igbo language effectively and efficient. The objectives of this research are to develop a platform for an expert system for Igbo language translation, build a database structure that we used to store data, create a module that help to enter test, design a platform used to enter your name, create a system that would be able to translated to Igbo I and create a system that would be able to enter integrate automated system that would have provision to translated to Igbo 2. The project was realized through the adoption of primary and secondary sources of data collection which includes interview, observation, questionnaire, the internet and journals. The application was realized through the adoption of Agile methodology. In this work, the system was design and implemented using Html, PHP and java script. Database was designed using MySQL.
