ABSTRACT xi This report gives an account of portable water profile in Umuariga Ike-ujow Autonomous community, the objective of this study is to determine the portable water quality status of Umuariga ike-ujow Autonomous community umudike ,to classify the portable water quality based on water quality index (WQI) world health organization (WHO) and national water quality index (NWQI) with the following parameter which are salinity,Ph, Temperature, Total dissolved solid, Alkalinity, Turbidity. From the preliminary insitu pH result shows that the pH of water from the community as 6.4 which was within the WHO standard also other value were in accordance with the WHO standard for portable water profile, there the portable water was found to be safe for drinking. Finally it is recommended that further studies should be carried by further research’s on more chemical properties of water quality, also insitu analysis measurement and time monitory of water quality should be commonly done as they provide accurate measurement,.
