ABSTRACT x Typhoid fever causes significant biochemical changes and hepatic complications. Many studies have shown several biochemical parameters that are involved in developing the risk oftyphoid fever. The current study was designed to evaluate these risk factors among several individuals in Umuahia. A serum lipid profile concentrations ofTyphoid fever patient was evaluated. Twenty(20) subjects were studied, Ten(10) 1 healthy individuals and Ten(10) typhoid patients. Blood samples were collected from Michael okpata university of agriculture umudike clinic. In this study, Nested PCR was used to test the samples. Elevated level of Cholesterol at P < 0.05(211.3±17) and Triacylglycerol (142.0±9.27) were observed in typhoid patients. Typhoid patients had significantly higher concentrations of HDLP (83.7 ±8.7), LDLP (104±14.2) and VLDL at P<0.05(32.9±6.04). This study appears to be example evidence based on the Lipid Profile parameters in typhoid patients to i ^explain influence of typhoid morbidity. Extensive research in this area would help in the management and treatment oftyphoid fever.
