ABSTRACT
The need for microphone systems became apparent when it became necessary to communicate a large audience. In order to increase the convenience of public address systems, wireless microphone system were designed. The following project involves the design as well ashes construction of a wireless microphone system. The system analysis carried out is geared towards the creation of two physically separate units, namely a transmitting and receiving units. Based on design criteria, the transmitting unit was implemented using an oscillator (culprits), a modulating section, as well as a power amplifier stage for the output. It was found however that either a culprits oscillator or crystal oscillator (the latter require a multiplier stage) could be used. The transmitting unit was designed to be hand held for possible utilization as a public address system and was configured to operate in F. M (Frequency modulation) mode. All circuits were organized and constructed on individually tailored P.C.B (Print Circuit Board) and the system neatly packed. The final product was expected to be capable of high fidelity transmission and reception over a distance of at least 75 meters. The system was found to work and operate according to design and specifications.
