ABSTRACT
The Street Light System with Solar Panel Sensor is a sensitive device with great efficiency of photo detection. In this work, I used a solar panel, 12V battery, comparator, relay, LED and other components like resistor, transistors etc. This work is made up of five units: Solar panel, Battery charging unit where I used the Timer known as LM741 and LM317 which stabilize the volts entering the circuit; The battery unit where the battery is being charged. The comparator unit where the two input signals from the battery and the solar panel are compared. At a volt below zero the comparator takes it as zero and there will be no switching but at one volt and above, there will be switching which leads us to the switching unit were the relay does the switching. At the lighting unit, the LEDs turns ON and OFF at DUSK, and DAWN respectively. This work was tested for three days and was observed that as at 6:30pm the light turns ON and OFF at 6:00am.
