Computerized Immunization Documentation And Alerting System

ABSTRACT

 Immunization is the process whereby a person is made immune or resistant to an infectious disease, typically by the administration of a vaccine. It is most common with children within the age of 0 — I 2month. For this singular fact, coupled with the health benefits for children, it should be a thing of priority to parent and health care centers. Some health centers still do manual recording of data, immunization records inclusive and this often result to information mismanagement. Also, some parent tends to forget the actual date and time for their children vaccine and this will pose threat to the normal prescribed immunization routine. This project research is a web-based platform that will help keeps record of the children immunization routine as well as remind parents periodically. Qualitative research methodology was used for data collection and this includes interview, review of the current system and also observation. Being an online system, the end application was developed using series of web development languages like HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, PHP (on MVC Framework which is the latest technology for web development) and MySQL. The major benefits of the project research include the alerting system to remind parent of vaccine due date and the record keeping system for proper information management.
