ABSTRACT
The encryption and decryption ofimages using a secret password is provided by the user. The encryption machine takes the password and the source image as input and generates a key pattern image by using Secure Hash Algorithm (SHA) and a lock image by using Mcrypt algorithm. It provides additional security using Image scrambling. The decryption machine takes the lock image, key image and the password as input to generate the original image. It also checks if the input is valid and blocks the user when an invalid input is provided. The problem statement of this research focus on the issue of message visibility to third parties after a user has been logged into the system. The problem ofsecurity because the password method used in almost all commercial operating systems is probably not very strong against a sophisticated or unsophisticated attacker. In the existing system, messages can be accessed, read, copied and sent after a user has logged in. This primary challenges causes a lot of hazard that includes; incrimination, impersonation, loss of financial record integrity, loss of lives and so many other negative impacts for users of mailing system. The objectives ofthis research are to develop a platform that would be used to encrypt document with the use of images, create a decryption platform for all users of the system, build a database structure used to store data ofthe users, design a platform that ensures data integrity, create a platform that improve consistency of data sent over the network by preventing the use of the system from third parties with the use of a decryption key. The application was realized through the adoption of water fall model. In this research the results are obtained by writing the entire work in visual basic .net and Micro Soft Access as the database that provide security which ■ preset super user account and password. The super user has a password to control network functionality and access backups and micro soft access as database.
