ABSTRACT
A LAN is a collection of two or more computers that are located within a limited distance of each other and that are connected to each other directly or indirectly, LANS differs in the way the computers are connected, in how information moves around the network, and in what machine is in charge of the network. The computers in a LAW may be PCS, Macintoshes Minicomputer mainframes or machine with other architecture. However there are restrictions on the combination that are feasible and sensible. Centralized storage sharing data and resources remote database and program access enhances communication and the economical aspects are some of the tremendous uses of the LAN technology
