ABSTRACT

This research work looked at the relationship that exist between JAMB Sores, Age, Sex and Students Academic Performance which was considered s 4 using CGPA. The statistical tool used was multiple regression analysis. JAMB Sores, Sex and Age were independent variables while CGPA was the dependent variable. Further, the sample comprised of 100 students randomly selected from a department in each of the given colleges in MOUAU. F-test was used to test the overall significance of the models. The result indicated that there was no strong linear relationship between JAMB Scores, Age, Sex and CGPA, in other words, CGPA does not depend on JAMB Scores, Age and Sex. Correlation analysis revealed that their is a very weak relationship between CGPA and JAMB Scores. Therefore, it was recommended that, the research department of MOUAU should check other factors which influence students performance and also release data to researchers when needed to help solve the problem of poor performance.
