ABSTRACT

This·project work applied sex ratio for the estimation of average sex ratio at death and population. projection model was also employed to forecast the population of Abia State by- L.G.A. based on 20 l 0 populatioi:i census figure and arithmetic means to estimate the average of annual number of death by sex from 2000-20 l 0. In all the analysis, it was observed that the number of6 death was increasing annually. The sex ratio was also ascertained to be 270 males per I 00 females for each year under review. The population projection was also on an increase which implies that the population of Abia state is. growing rapidly. The results of this research work will be of great help to the government to curb the rapid population growth in the state.
