the plant selected for this study, G.africanum (30pg/ml) showed highest alpha amylase inhibitory (76pg/ml) and (76.35pg/ml) respectively . Results of the phytochemical analysis of the plant showed that the plant contain polyphenols with G. latifolium having the highest flavonoid content of 800 (mg QE/g) and G.latifolium having the highest phenol content of 5250 (mg TAE/g). Ferric reducing capacity, DPPH, ABTS were also tested. However, G.aficanum showed the highest scavenging activity compared to other plants. These findings are indicative that ethanol extract of 3 dark green vegetables: Vernonia amygdalina, Gnetum afrianum and Gongronema in the management of diabetes and related conditions. x Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic progressive disease that has continued to be global heath and economic burden.
