ABSTRACT

The antimicrobial activities of Moringa oleifera leaves and seeds were tested in vitro using disc diffusion method. The minimum inhibitory concentration determination against human pathogenic organisms was also determined. At the concentration of lOOmg/ml, the extracts potential activity against: Pseudomonas and Escherichia coli were tested. The ethanolic extracts of the leaves and seed Salomonella typhi, Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli respectively. The zones of inhibition for ethanol extracts of leaves ranged from 12mm-20rnm while that of seeds ranged from 9mm-15mm. The aqueous extract for leaves and seed ranged from 7mm-10mm and 8mm-llmm.
