ABSTRACT

Detergents as we know is an essential commodity in our households that we cannot afford to overlook considering its uses. This reason has made this research imperative. This project is concerned with knowing the detergent that satisfies the final consumers. The time (in seconds) taken by these detergents to remove palm oil stain by the detergents from the fabrics was also measured. The detergents (Ariel, Sunlight, Omo, Klin and Elephant) and the fabrics (Cotton, Silk, Polyester, Wool, and Velvet) used in this work were analyzed using the Two-Way ANOVA statistical technique to compare the means of the time it took the detergents to remove palm oil stain from the respective fabrics. The ANOVA assumption was stated, tested and justified using an appropriate test statistic, this was also used as a guide. The results obtained from the tests suggest that there are significant differences in the mean-time of removing palm oil stain among the detergents on the respective fabrics.
