ABSTRACT

The traditional method of delivering cargo to the owners is time consuming and expensive. This electronic cargo management system will help to unravel the problems encountered in the manual method of managing cargo. Forwarders play a central role in managing the logistic supply chain in a rapidly-changing would. Competition is growing and globalization means that shipping cycles are reading and becoming more complex. This rising supply chain complexity puts pressure on the role of the forwarder, where process speed and efficiency are vital. To manage these complexities and to maintain their key role in this supply chain, the forwarder needs innovative technical solutions, enabling quicker and more efficient flows. In this project work, we developed an e-cargo to ease to problems arising from the distribution of goods and services. The e-cargo management system is a new and innovative product facilitating the paperless exchange of shipment documents and optimizing the administrative process. To enable shipment and transporting of cargoes, a system needs to be built for customers to buy cargo home and abroad online and pay online or upon delivery. The management of cargo using internet technologies helps the business men achieves their set goals within a short period of time since it does not waste time. So whenever a cargo is purchased by a business man, the conveyance to specified direction is no longer a problem because one can book line without physically going to the airport. In conclusion, we can say that this application has been test run and proven alright, as it is fast, reliable and formative since all the management that can be done manually are now implemented using a computer software.
