ABSTRACT
The development in
the internet and web-based technologies has actually distinguished between
traditional markets and the global electronic market place, business capital
size, for instance are gradually being narrowed down. Online shopping mall is
the process consumers go through to purchase products or services over the
Internet. An c-shop, estore, Internet shop, webshop or web store evokes the
physical analogy of buying products or services at a bricks-and-mortar retailer
or in a mall. It is an electronic commerce application used for
business-to-business electronic commerce (B2B) or business-to-consumer
electronic commerce (B2C). It is popular, mainly because of its speed and ease
of use. Some issues of concern can include fluctuating exchange rates for
foreign currencies, local and international laws and delivery methods. It is
recognized that in this information age, internet commerce is a powerful tool
in the economic growth of developing countries. While there are indications of
E-commerce patronage among large firms in developing countries, there seems to
be little and negligible use of the internet for commerce among small and
medium sized firms. E-commerce promises better business for sustainable economic
development for developing countries. However, this is promised on strong
political will and good governance, as well as on a responsible and supportive
private sector within an effective policy framework. This project is aimed at
developing an online shopping store which will go a long way in boosting the
visibility and efficient in the transaction of any given organization.
