Abstract
In recent years, information technology (IT) has played a critical role in the accounting systems of companies all over the world. However, there is no significant study that has evaluated the impact of computer-based accounting systems (CBAS) in Nigerian companies. This study focuses on Nigerian companies in order lo investigate the status of CBAS adoption and to ascertain its impact on these companies. Qualitative information from the, study population was analyzed to establish the level of adoption of CBAS, factors affecting its adoption and impact it has on the business performance of the Nigerian companies. The results from applying Regression Analysis revealed the relationship between CBAS adoption and factor affecting it, while ANOVA and the. generated regression coefficient tables was used lo test the study hypothesis.
