ABSTRACT
This research focused on the effects of
corporate social responsibility on corporate reputation of Tummy Tummy Foods
Industry Ltd Abia State. Beyond the broad objectives, the research south
specifically to; ascertain the effect of corporate social responsibility of
Tummy Tummy Foods Industry on their corporate reputation, find out the
relationship between corporate social responsibility and organisation
performance, ascertain the effect of corporate reputation on the purchasing
intentions of their customers'. The researcher adopted survey research design,
primary and secondary data was used, purposive and simple random sampling
techniques was also adopted The study population consist of the residents of
three Local Government Area of Ahia State which serve as the host communities
of the organisation's branch in Aha. Using Taro Yamane's formula, the sample
size was deduced to be 240 respondents. Pearson Product Moment Correlation and
Multiple Regression was use to analysed the objectives and test the hypotheses.
190 questionnaire was returned from the filed which form the basis for the data
analysis. The major findings revealed that at P>0.01 level of significance,
Tummy Tummy Foods Industry's corporate social responsibilities has a strong
positive effect 011 their corporate reputation with correlation coefficient of
(r = 0.943). The regression result revealed that High Quality Product and Fair
Treatment of Employee with the coefficient of regression (2192.839), and
(2047.597), respectively are positively related to the performance of the
organisation at 1% level (Sig <.01) of significance, also at P>0.01 level of
significance the organisation's corporate reputation has a strong positive
effect on the purchasing intentions of their customers with correlation
coefficient of (r=- 0.858). The researcher concluded that the effects of
corporate social responsibility are multifaceted, as it help the organisation
to establish congenial relations with its stakeholders, and recommends that he
corporate social responsibility of the organization should be step-up, and its
activities are to be communicated and publicized to appropriate stakeholders, this
will help the organization to build more corporate image.
