ABSTRACT
Cash management is the management of cash
balances of a concern in such a manner as to maximize the availability of cash
not invested in fixed assets, or inventories to avoid the risk of insolvency.
The main purpose of this study is to examine and evaluate the effect of cash
management on corporate performance, procedures and techniques adopted in
commercial banks. Survey data were obtained from 100 respondents for research
design while secondary data were extracted from the opinions and views
ofwriters related to this field of study. Chisquare (x2) statistical tool was
used to test the hypotheses and the result obtained showed that come what may,
there is nothing that can be compared to effective cash management in any
corporate organization. The findings also shows that optimum profitability and
operational efficiency can be better harnessed, ifthere is effective management
ofthe bank resources. Based on that, recommendation was made that managers
should extend management to the human resources as well, so as to maintain an
unshakable high profit profile
