ABTRACT

The study examined the economics of palm oil marketing in Enugu north local government area, Enugu state, Nigeria. Forty respondents were randomly sampled using multi-stage technique. Pretested questionnaire were to use complimented with interview schedule. About half of the respondents(50%) had a household size of two persons and why 25% bad a household size between 3 and 5- persons, a table of 82.5% of the respondents have been in palm oil marketing was profitable in the study area giving an average marketer N3 10,960 with a marketing season. Age, Sex, education level Of respondents were variables that positively influenced palm oil marketing in the study and should be considered in formulation of policies to improve palm oil marketing. Background Information as well as the Statement of Problem which involves dealers in palm oil experiencing lot of problems in trying to get adequate supply of the product due to fluctuating trends in supply, more so objective of the study such as Describing the socio-economic characteristics of the respondent. Analyzing profitability in palm oil marketing, Identifying the constraints associated with palm oil marketing in the study area and Determining factors that influences net income were looked into. Frequencies and percentages were used to analyze objectives 1 and iii, multiple regression was used to analyze objective IV and cost and returns analysis was used to analyze objective ii.
