ABSTRACT

This study employees the exponential function to estimate the regression equation and the role of women labour in the processing of palm oil and palm kernel in the study area.. It was found that four explanatory variable which include Amount of credit (X2) family size (X3) Women labour (X6) and cost of palm bunches (x8) have a positive apriori sing expectation. indicating that output could be raised by using more of these variables. On the other hand, Age (X1), working experience (X4) men labour (X5) children labour (X7) women access to improved technologies (X9) have negative apprising expectation indicating inverse relationship with the dependent variable. When labour was disaagregated into children women and men labour, However, women labour was found to be positive and highest indicating that women labour contribute ore to the processing of palm oil and palm kernel than children and men labour.
