The Role Of Nigeria Stock Exchange In Nigerian Economic Development

ABSTRACT

This project is designed to place the role of the Nigeria stock exchange in the Nigerian Economic development. During the research, attempts will be made by the researcher to critically examine the role played by the Nigeria Stock Exchange Market in CORPORATE VENTURE FINANCING. Additionally, the need of the investors and industries will be extensively discussed, the most effective and efficiently used and source of the funds will also be discussed. The Researcher's efforts, aims, and objectives will be achieved through secondary data method through the review of various Authors, Journals, Text book and Newspapers. Questionnaire will be designed to collect information from the stock exchange market 1n the economic development the researcher will also interview some dealers in stock exchange market, the method used in analyzing this research work is the Chi-Square and simple percentage. At the end of this project, the researcher would have been able to cover the achievements of the Nigeria economic development through the Nigeria Stock Exchange. Additionally, the researcher will also discuss the benefits of the capital market and areas of weakness in the economic development of Nigeria which calls for extermination and correction, and how the Nigeria stock exchange performed during the above years interval and also discuss the immoral behaviors that crippled the stock market. The significance of the study/research includes that the study will be of immense assistance to core investors who look for investment areas in company or establishments through the stock exchange market. It will as well help those (investors) in the evaluation and appraisal of companies. This piece of study will help to cooperate with the association of state brokers •in other countries, to obtain any facilities likely to be of advantages to them.
