The Role Of Microfinance Institutions In Rural Poverty Alleviation In Nigeria

ABSTRACT

This research work was focused on infc1rmal microfinance institution and how they contribute to poverty alleviation through access to credit facilities. Since variable under study are mostly documentaries which could not be subject to a controlled environment i.e. a case study but vested. Analysis was conducted for 1 3years out of microfinance institution existence. Three hypotheses were postulated and tested with a statistical tool of simple and multiple regressions and at 5% level of significance in which hypothesis und 2 were accepted and hypothesis 3 was rejected. The researcher identified the fact that microfinance institutions are still in the busy of upgrading which made data collection difficult but nevertheless, findings were made and recommendation was also suggested.
