ABSTRACT

 Safety and security issues have featured prominently in the scheme of' things world over. On this background. the researcher decided to carry out this study to determine the place of safety and security on guest choice of' service facility. three research questions were  to guide md focus the stud. fetch study Was carried out in I. Umuahia, Abia State, and ten food service utilities were used for the study, while their guests formed the population for the study. A survey design was used. A sample of' 3S() guests was taken &om the population, 350 copies of' questionnaire administered and only 300 copies 'ere returned. The data generated was analyzed using simple percentages. The findings showed that safety and security receive the highest consideration by guests when eating out. finally. recommendations were given on how to make the environment of operation of these firms safe and secure.
