ABSTRACT

This study focused on the impact of motivation of employees on sales performance. The study was carried out in Osisioma L GA, Abia State using Tonimas Nigeria Limited, Osisioma .About 154 respondents were randomly selected as the population and sample size was determined using Yaro Yamen's formular. The primary data used in this work were collected through personal interview, observation and questionnaire. In analyzing the result, frequencies, table percentages were used while chi-square technique and Karl Pearson's product moment correlation coefficient model were adopted in testing the hypothesis. The first and third hypotheses were tested using the chi-square technique while the second hypotheses was tested using the Karl Pearson's product moment correlation coefficient . Findings indicated that motivation of employees have a positive and significant relationship with sales performance, that recruitment of qualified employees has a positive effect on sales performance, that regular training of employees have significant effect on sales performance, that supervision of employees have significant effect on sales performance, that conducive environment have a positive effect on sales performance. Based on the above findings, the following recommendation were made, that increased employee motivation should be provided to the employees, that qualified employees should be recruited, that employees of organizations should be trained at interval, that a conducive environment should be provided for the employees.
