The Impact Of Leadership Style On Workers’ Productivity (A Study Of National Root Crops Research Institute), (NRCRI) Umudike

ABSTRACT

This is an extensive research into the effects of leadership style on workers’ productivity using National Root Crops Research Institute (NRCRI) Umudike. The major objective of this research is the determination of the effects of leadership style on workers’ productivity. Also the research delves into the appraisal of the reconciliation of organizational goals and needs of workers in an enterprise to enhance increase in the quantity and quality of output and related performance of workers. To investigate the research objectives, the researcher developed the hypotheses stating that leadership style and reconciliation of the organizational goals and workers needs promote productivity respectively which was later accepted. In conducting this research, a sample size of 80 was used which method; and the statistical technique used which was determined through Yaro farmer's method; and the statistical technique used was chi-square in testing the hypotheses. The researcher after investigation discovered that democratic style of leadership and the recognition of the interests, needs and desires of workers in an enterprise promotes synergistically promotion in enhancing workers’ productivity. Also, we recommend the practice of democratic style of leadership, recognition of workers and social responsiveness corporate groups and growths and competitive survival.
