The Effect Of Financial Statement On The Management Of Public Corporation (A Case Study Of Water Corporation, Abia)

ABSTRACT

This research focused on the effect of financial statement on the management of public corporation in Nigeria with Abia State water corporation as a case study. The study was carried out with a view to identifying the negative effects of public corporation not publishing their financial statement regularly. Attempt has been made using some related literature to explain the problem under investigation. Two hypotheses were formulated for verification using the simple random sampling in eliciting the data from the respondents, questionnaires were designed and distributed to 30 respondents and were correctly filed and returned. Each for both descriptive and statistical analysis using the simple percentage (%) to analyze the bio — data of the respondents and chi — square was also used to analyze the hypothesis formulated. The study, however, revealed some major findings that there is significant relationship between the financial position of the corporation and the success of the corporation and that financial statement is strongly related to the successful management of public corporations.
