The Effect Of Cash Management On The Performance Of Manufacturing Firms In Nigeria (A Study Of Some Selected Manufacturing Firms In Nigeria)

ABSTRACT

This research work, however, is concerned with the effect of cash management on the performance of manufacturing firms in Nigeria. A simple size of the 30 manufacturing companies that are quoted on the floor of the Nigeria stock exchange (NSE) was used. To provide direction to the study, three (3) hypotheses were formulated and attested with correlation analysis. The findings made are revealed that as cash management of the firms increases, the profitability also increases. Also, cash management processes adopted by the firms ensured effective cash management. Also, it was discovered that as the level of investment and social cost increases, cash management also decreases. The researcher on discussing them recommends that every decision to invest excess cash in marketable securities should concern the amount to invest and also the type of security in which to invest.
