ABSTRACT

This research work aimed at finding the influence of Attitude, knowledge, practice of nutrition and socio-economic status of mothers (with children aged 6 — 12 years) in urban and rural Areas. The sample consisted of two hundred respondents which were randomly selected from Owerri urban and Onicha Ezinihite Mbaise as the iural Area. Data were collected with structured, validated and pre-tested questionnaire. Information was collected on their Attitude, knowledge, practice of Nutrition and socio-economic status. Data collected with the questionnaire were coded and analysed. From the findings, it was observed that there were no significant difference in pactice of Nutrition, knowledge of nutrition and socio-economic status when compared between the rural and urban Areas, but there is significant difference in their attitude towards Nutrition.
