Abstract

 The infrastructural development in higher education is complex and cost-intensive. Thus, ensuring their quality and maintenance up to global standards is very challenging. Provision of a stimulating learning environment and safety is a major consideration in infrastructural development. The study is to evaluate tertiary education trust fund on capacity development in Nigerian Federal Universities, using ex-post facto research design. Secondary data were collected from the annual records and publications of TETFUND journals and articles, CBN bulletins and the federal ministry of education, budget and nationalplanning publications respectively. The statistical tools employedfor this work was multiple linear regression. The study carried out an empirical survey spanning ten (20) years 2003-2022 to evaluate the extent of impact TETFUND intervention has on the overall performance ofboth staff, research and development and infrastructure development in Nigeria federal universities within the southeast geopolitical region. Results revealed that tetfund significantly affect infrastructure and research and development with various p-values of0.0022 and 0.00326 respectively.
