ABSTRACT

A study was carried out at the western farm of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, to assess (lie effect of sanpling time, and rate of application of cart hworm-cassava; earthworm-poultry manure compost on soil physical and chemical properties with soil samples collected at four-week interval. The treatment combinations were cassava peels plus earthwonn (CP+E), poultry manure plus earthworm (PM+E), combination of cassa\'a peels-poultry in anure plus earthworm (CP±PM+E) and a control, applied at 2t!ha and 4/ha, respectively with 3 replicates and these gave a total number of 1 2 treatments. The experimental design used was randomized complete block design. The soil physical and chemical properties studies included; bulk density (13D), aggregate stability (AS), pH, available phosphorus (Av.P), organic carbon (OC), exchangeable acidity (EA), total nitrogen, (TN) and cation exchange capacity (CEC). All data were subjected to analysis of variance (ANOVA) and differences between treatment means were separated by the least significant difference
