ABSTRACT

The study had as its purpose, to determine the et1ct, which the application of business social responsibility has on business. It also examined how ef4ctive (he impact has been on the hosting communities. The research also dealt with specific gains derived from the application of business social responsibility by Vita foam Nigeria P/c as a whole. The research instruments used for the study were the questionnaire. The analysis interpretations and findings based on the data collected were tested. There hypotheses were propounded and tested using Chi-Square method, the null hypotheses were rejected while the alternative hypotheses were upheld and accepted. Manufacturing firms in Nigeria are trying to be socially responsible to the host community. This is shown by the social audit of its social undertaking for its operating communities thus really making the company a corporate citizen.
