Role Of Public Accountants In Mergers And Acquisitions (A Study Of Selected Accounting Firms In Abia State.)

ABSTRACT

This study appraised the roles of public accountants in mergers and acquisitions. Necessary literatures were reviewed, Primary sources of data were used and well structured questionnaire was developed from the specific objectives. The specific objectives such as techniques used by public accountants during mergers and acquisitions, constraints of public accountants during mergers and acquisition, activities performed by public accountants in mergers and acquisition etc were analyzed using simple descriptive statistics such as frequency distribution and ranking. And its' hypothesis was tested using Pearson moment correlation. The findings were summarized, conclusion was made and necessary recommendations were made.
