ABSTRACT

This study investigated the method ofresuscitating annihilated battery as well as analyzing its life cycle cost. The specific objectives were to evaluate the performance ofthe resuscitated battery and determine the life cycle cost analysis ofthe resuscitated battery. The battery was resuscitated with 12 positive and 12 negative battery cells and 2.041V open-circuit voltage. The bill ofmeasurement and evaluation was evaluated. The State of charge, C-rate, Specific energy and specific power were calculated using stock and flow model. The result showed that the time, voltage, current and capacity considerably affect the C-RATE, Specific Enthalpy (SE) and Specific Power (SP) ofthe battery charged with 5watts, 11watts and 25watts load. The result also showed that increase in load results to increase in the state of power (SOP), C-rate, Specific power (SP) and Specific Energy (SE). Based on the findings of the study, it is therefore recommended that resuscitation of lead acid batter should be encouraged. Also the battery cells used in resuscitation affects the load to be carried by the battery
