ABSTRACT

This study examined the relationship between Availability of Resources and Implementation of UBE in primary schools in Ikot Ekpene Educational Zone of Akwa Abom State. The study adopted the descriptive research design. Four research questions and four null hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. A researcher made instrument entitled UBE resource availability and implementation questionnaire (UBERAIQ) with reliability coefficient of 0.82 on Cronbach coefficient Alpha scale was be used to elicit response from sample subjects. The sample size was 840 primary school teachers selected from a population 2,130 using the cluster and random sampling technique. Data were analysed using the pearson's product moment correlation (PPMC) statistics, mean score and frequency. An observational study further ascertained that school resources and facilities were inadequate for effective implementation of UBE at the primary school level in the study area. Based on the findings of the study, the researcher recommended among others that school managers and head teachers, supervisors, teachers, and government should ensure that school resources are made available in the right quality and quantity and should be appropriately managed to facilitate effective and efficient implementation of the UBE in Primary schools in the study area.
