Abstract

This paper explores the application of e-/eaming programmes among academics in library and information science in covid-19 era. The population of the study comprised 59 academics of library and information science from university of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. A 26 item rating scale questionnaire was used as instrument for data collection while mean statistics was used to analyse the collected data. Findings revealed that to a very high extent, academics in Library and Information Science (LIS)are familiar with the values and potentials of elearning programme for teaching and learning in COVID-19 era, however, they believe is difficult to apply and requires much JCT to utilize. The study farther revealed that erratic power supply, poor attitude of academics and students to embracing e-learning programme and lack of e-learning facilities in US schools were all identified constraints towards applying e-learning programmes in teaching and learning. The researchers recommended that university management and other r&levant stakeholders should demystify the perceived difficulties towards the utilization of e-learning programmes by academics through training. · workshops and seminars.
