Nigerian Macro Economic Environment Polices And The Effect On Agribusiness Growth Indicators

ABSTRACT

Several macroeconomic environment policies have been used in Nigeria,

which have directly and indirectly influenced agribusiness output, credit,

investment, export and risk in actualizing economic growth. This paper

assesses the macroeconomic environment policies adopted in Nigeria and

the effect on agribusiness growth indicator over the year. The result shows

that the country's exchange rate regime has encouraged agribusiness.

Although credit to the sector has no signcant effect on agribusiness

growth indicator. I/s availability greatly depend on how high the nominal

interest rate are, on the whole, macroeconomic environment policies that

reduce inflation, increase foreign private investment in agribusiness,

introduce favourable exchange rate, make agribusiness credit to have

significant effect make agribusiness investment would be invaluable in

fortifying government expenditure and government investment (debt) in

the sector and ensure that political uncertainty and environment will

influence macroeconomic policies in Nigeria.
