ABSTRACT

This study was an exclusive study on influences at sales promotion on the market performance of' selected industrial product in Abia State. The Objective of' the study are; determine the effect of sales promotion budget as sales value at selected industrial product; determine the effect of raffle draw in attracting market shares. A sample size at 255 was adopted for the study through a simple random sampling method. A well standard 2quaestionnaire was designed to collect primary dati for the study which were analyzed using multiple regression models. The study findings was that: bonus, free gifts and raffle draw are some of the promotion tools that contribute positively to sales level of selected industrial product. The study recommended that sale promotion, as one of the promotional tools in industrial marketing should be taken seriously. This is because it helps to guard against unfavorable sales fluctuations in the industrial product sales level. Thus efforts and resources should allocate to it, to achieve not only short term sales effects but a long-term buyers loyalty for the industrial market; effective sales promotion tools that are peculiar not only to industrial products, but to industrial buyers should be used. Such will foster a competitive advantage to the industrial market, especially when cost, time, duration etc. are put into consideration.
