Abstract This paper critically examined three innovative teaching methods and their usefulness in tnci easing learners interest and academics achievement. These innovative teaching methods are programmed instruction, learner controlled instruction and individualized ■instruction. Innovative teaching strategies ensure that learners are actively involved in the task ofleaning and they are provided with sufficient motivation, sustained attention and interest which invariable reflect on their academic achievement. This paper also reviewed the challenges, solutions, recommendations and conclusion.
