ABSTRACT
The aim of this study is to investigate if labour cost control can improve the profitability in agribusiness firms. To carry out this study, the researcher used both primary and secondary data. Questionnaires were distributed, collected and analyzed. Secondary data were collected from financial report and accounts of selected companies. Descriptive statistical were used to analyzed collected data while correlation and regression were employed in testing the hypotheses. It was discovered that cost control can improve the profitability of agribusiness firms. In chapter five, the conclusion derive is that management should control the payroll. Units, time spent by workers on job and rate of payment of wages and salary. After going through the study the researcher recommends that firm control should be ensured through the payroll by ensuring that persons whose names are in the payroll are really works of the firms.
