ABSTRACT

 The study examined the implementation of collection development policy in Michael Okpara University ofAgriculture, Umudike Library. The main objective ofthe study is to examine the implementation of collection development policy in Michael Okpara University ofAgriculture, Umudike Library. In other to achieve the main objective, four specific objectives and four research questions were developed. The study adopted a survey research design through questionnaire with a sample of 58 which also represented the population size. The data generated through questionnaire were analyzed using tables, percentages and mean scores. The findings revealed that collection development policy is available in MOUA U library and that collection development policy in the library is implemented. Among other things, provision of sufficient funds for the library is a veritable strategyfor enhancing the implementation of collection development policy in the library. The study concludes that the implementation of collection development policy processes in MOUAU library ifmaintained will continue to give effective librarianship in the library
