ABSTRACT

The study investigated on the impact ofstatutory audit report on performance of banks in Nigeria, The overall objective ofthe study is to examine the impact ofof statutoiy audit report on performance of banks in Nigeria. To achieve the objectives of the study, sin^vey research design was adopted. The researcher adopted primary data in getting the required information. A total of 40 respondents constituted the population size of the study while the sample size is made up of 36 after adopting Taro Yamane formula. However, a total of 36 questionnaire was administered to the respondents, 25 were correctly filled and returned while 11 was void. In testing the hypotheses, simple regression analysis was used. Thefindings revealed that statutory audit report has a significant impact on the accountability ofbanks in Nigeria. Thefindings also revealed that statutoiy audit report has a significant impact on the reliability offinancial statement of banks in Nigeria. The study recommends that Banks should consult statutory auditors to audit theirfinancial statementfor proper management and investment decision.
