ABSTRACT

The study was aimed at finding out the impact oftaxation revenue on the economic growth ofNigeria. With reference to the federal Inland Revenue service (FIRS).The study adopted secondary data sourced from Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) statistical bulletin from 2006 to 2015.Three research questions guided the study, the testing ofhypotheses was done using Multiple Regression Analysis to measure the degree of the relationship between the dependent and the independent variable. The result shows that there is a significant relationship between, petroleum profit tax, company income tax and value added tax (PPT, CIT and VAT) on the economic growth of Nigeria. And also, taxation is an instrument of Nigerian economic growth. Based on the research, it is recommended that, additional measures should be adopted by the Government to ensure that tax payers do not avoid and evade tax so that income can be redistributed in the economy.
