Impact Of Management Accounting Information On The Decision Making Process Of Manufacturing Companies (A Study Of Vita Foam Nigeria Plc Aba, Abia State.)

ABSTRACT

This project work is set to look into the Impact of Management Accounting Information on the Decision Making process of Manufacturing Companies with a case study of Vita Foam Nigeria Plc. The main objective of this study is to examine the impact of management accounting information on the decision making process of manufacturing firms in Nigeria. This was followed by a review of relevant literature relating to the research topic. In addition to the books and journals consulted, the research was conducted with the use of questionnaires and personal interviews. A sample of twenty eight (28) staff was randomly selected from the accounting and production department of Vita Foam Nigeria Plc. Two hypotheses were formulated and tested through use of simple regression on questionnaires administered to various respondents. From the data collected and the tested hypothesis, results showed that: management accounting information have signficant impact on the decision making process and there is no sign /i cant impact of management accounting information on the financial performance of manufacturing firms in Nigeria. Amongst several recommendations were the following: Every business organization should establish a management accounting department. The management accountant or accounting officer of any organization should endeavor to provide the needed or required accounting information for proper decision making process of the management. Management of every business organization should promote the use of advanced management accounting tools in order to enhance the quality of management.
