ABSTRACT ix - i1This study investigates the impact of industrialization and unemployment in Nigeria (1981 — 2018) using the ordinary least square method which incorporates endogenity in its estimation, the unit root test was carried out for each of the variables using the ADF (Augmented Dickey Fuller) which shows that all the variables are stationary at 1st difference. The cointegraton was also conducted to determine ifthere exists a long run relationship among variables. Findingfrom the study shows industrial sector proxied by manufacturing sector, solid mineral sector, natural gas and crude oil sector loosely impacts on unemployment rate in Nigeria because its coefficient is statistically significant and insignificantjudging from the 2-t rule ofthumb. Based on the F-test we can say that the joint effect of all the explanatory variables on the explained variable is statistically significant. The study recommends among others that Government shouldpursue afavourable policy framework and provide necessary infrastructures and create an enabling environment willfoster huge investment in research and development. Government industrialization policies should be one that createsfair playing groundsfor both domestic and foreign investors as this will go a long way in increasing our domestic investment andforeign direct investment which in turn leads to enhanced industrial growth and thus economic growth
