Impact of Effective Inventory Management and Control on Growth of Manufacturing Firms: A Study of Pz Cussons PLC Aba, Abia State

The study examined the impact of effective inventory management and control on growth of manufacturing firms: a study of Pz Cussons Plc Aba, Abia state Nigeria. The objectives of the study is to examine the nature of relationship between inventory management and firm's effectiveness. to determine the impact of inventory management on firm's productivity and lo evaluate the nature of correlation between inventory management and firm's profitability. A set of structured questionnaire was used as instrument for data collection and administered to 140 respondent which was randomly selected using Toro Yamane and 104 were duly filled and returned. The data was then analyzed using SPSS version. The result showed that inventory control has a positive but insignificant relationship with firm productivity. The main finding of this study is that inventory management and proxy variables show a strong positive relationship with firm productivity. The study therefore conclude that firms integrated efforts of top management and other staff is required to achieve adequate inventory control and hence firm's productivity. Furthermore, the study recommends that there is a need for a PZ Cussons Ple Aba to continuously train inventory managers and supervisors to enhance manpower and improve the know ledge, skills and altitude required by employees to perform adequately and promote organizational productivity.
