Impact Of Computer Technology On Accounting System (A Study Of Federal Pay Office Umuahia)

ABSTRACT

 The use of computer technology contributes greatly to the growth of every business organization. In order to ascertain the other enormous benefits of Computer technology to any organization irrespective of goals and objectives, the researcher was set out to ascertain the impact of computer technology on accounting system with particular interest in Federal Pay Office Umuahia, Abia State. The sample size for the study is 44 management and accountants of the organization. In a bid to generate the relevant data for the study, the researcher prepared and distributed a well structured questionnaire. The data cinalytical too/s used by the researcher to analyze generated are simple descriptive and inferential analysis tool. The simple descriptive statistical tools inc/ac/c; percentages () and frequency distribution, while the inferential ancilytical tools - correlation and regression - will be used in testing the above form ulateci hypothesis. The researcher proffers the Jàllowing recomniend/citions; the use of computer technology should be encouraged by Management (10(1 Accountants of Federal Pay Office, Umuahia through the provision of training facilities and employing experts to offer assistance when the need arises. The government of the state should con tribute to the availability and access!bi/ftV of computer devices and softwcire by subsidizing them, thus making the products affordable and accessible by personnel of Federal Pay Office Umucihia and Nigeria in general.
