ABSTRACT

The aim of this research study is to examined the historical development of banking in Nigeria, recognized the roles of banks on Nigeria and on the impact of their failure on the Nigeria economy. Chapter one examine the roles of the business of banking in the economy, together failures effect on the development of banking business in Nigeria. In chapter two and overview of bank failure in Nigeria economy was made. Emphasis where laid on their genesis, caused bad debt, credit to the economy, it can also be as a result Of nonperforming loans the seventy of bad management income cases issues involving insider lending how levels of capitalization, control issues involves in bank failure management. Particular attention was dawn on the impact of banking business in the overall development of the people, and economy and the implications of its failure. In chapter three, the research narrates how the venous data for this study were collected and which infuriation were used with a view to reality the objectives of the study. In :chapter four tables of percentages where used to present and analyze the data collected which multiple regression analysis was use to test the hypothesis. Firstly in chapter five, a critical analysis of the research study revealed that bank failure in Nigeria is as a result of non-performing loans bad debt, how levels of capitalization and also not being able to meet its obligation to us depositors of the catalytic role banking in the economic confidence in the banking public.
