ABSTRACT x The impact ofagricultural output on economic growth ofNigerian economyfrom 1981 to 2017 with the objective ofevaluating the impact ofagricultural output on the gross domestic product ofthe Nigerian economy. The study adopted primary data for the analysis and the data was obtainedfrom Central Bank ofNigerian. The study employed unit root test, co-integration, OLS andECM. The result ofADFrevealed stationarity among the variables, the co-integration lest indicated 3 co-integrating equations which indicated long-run relationship among the variables. The ECM revealed a speed of adjustment of 149.6% from disequilibrium to equilibrium in the long run and it is rightly signed too. Crop production exert negative relationship on gross domestic product ofthe economy, butsignificantly. Whilefishery, forestry and livestock exerts positive relationship with gross domestic product ofthe economy and they all impacted positively and significantly on gross domestic product of the economy. The researcher however, recommends among other things that The government should through their numerouspolicies redirect attentions back to agriculturalsectorto occupy its importance in the economy
