Identification Of Food Preferences Of The Aged In Obowo Local Government Area Of Imo State

ABSTRACT
This study investigated the identification of food preferences of aged in Obowo local government area of Imo State to determine the types of food nutrient preferred by these aged and the factors that influence their food nutrient intake of aged. Based on the findings, the study recommended the aclectuate cnlightment of the aged and proper assistance from both health workers and enlightened citizen to the aged in Ohowo local government area of imo State. It also showed the following factors include socioeconomic factors, cultural factors, and religious factors. The population for the study consists of 353 respondents who were randomly selected from the local government area. Questionnaire was shared to the m(lomlv selected responclen ts. The statistical analysis from the data show that there was a poor food preferences among the studied population. The greater percentage of the respondents indicated a proper timing in their daily feeding time table.
